Rounds With Friends

A ROUNDS mod to extend the game's multiplayer capabilities, built for BepInEx.

Current Features

The mod supports up to 16 players in local and private online lobbies.

Team Deathmatch

The game mode you are used to, except now it supports up to 16 players in various team compositions.

Deathmatch / Free for all

Deathmatch follows the heart of the original team deathmatch game mode, but now it's just you against everyone else.

Continue or rematch

After the game ends, you can choose to play a little longer, or to start a new game.

Dependencies

Manual Installation

0. Locate your ROUNDS install directory.

This directory is usually located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ROUNDS or similar.

1. Install BepInEx.

See BepInEx installation for details.

You can download the latest release directly from BepInEx/releases. Choose the correct version for your platform and extract the downloaded zip file to your ROUNDS installation directory in its entirety.

Run the game once to generate BepInEx folder structure and configuration files.

2. Download UnboundLib.

Download the latest release of UnboundLib and extract the downloaded dll files to ROUNDS/BepInEx/plugins.

3. Download RoundsWithFriends.

Download the latest release of Rounds With Friends and extract the downloaded zip file to the install directory of ROUNDS.

Sandbox respawning

Description

Players do not currently respawn when they die in sandbox mode.

> 4 player mp?

Is there a chance this could work with more than 4 players?
Would changing the RoundsWithFriends.cs max players const work?

I'm asking and opening an issue instead of just trying it myself because the first time setup for compiling this project is quite cumbersome, especially if you don't have visual studio and a slow internet connection.

Also would anybody be interested in playing the game with more than 4 players? It could get hectic but it's part of the fun I think.

Error in Sandbox proxy

Sandbox mode fails to load any map, or player character

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install RWF from the Thunderstore
  2. Launch the game through r2modman
  3. Attempt to join sandbox mode

[BUG] Menu writings stacked

Describe the bug
When you launch the game, all the writings are stacked on each other, it is impossible to start a game with friends.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open the game with the mod installed
  2. You will se directly the writings missplaced

Expected behavior
Normal menu display with functionnalities working

[BUG]

Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.
So, When I launch a local deathmatch, even with no other active mods except RoundswithFriends and its dependencies, It will go to the loading page in between card selection and clicking team deathmatch, Then it wont load or freeze just sit there not loading any further than that loading screen.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Local page on home'
  2. Click on 'Team deathmatch' =
  3. Scroll down to '....'
  4. See error - once clicked nothing else will load

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.
I expected it to load to either the character selection screen or the card selection screen.

For reference, first ss is showing that only rounds with friends and dependencies are active. Second ss is showing the loading screen that you get stuck on once clicking deathmatch on the local menu.

[BUG] Doesn't run the mod

Describe the bug
The game is playing normal as if the mod isn't installed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Download the Unity versions of BepInEx (https://docs.bepinex.dev/master/articles/user_guide/installation/unity_mono.html)
  2. Copy it into Steam\steamapps\common\ROUNDS
  3. Copy in the RoundsWithFriends.2.2.1 BepInEx\ folder into ROUNDS\.
  4. Download UnboundLib.dll (https://github.com/Rounds-Modding/UnboundLib/releases/tag/v3.2.10)
  5. Copy UnboundLib.dll into Steam\steamapps\common\ROUNDS\BepInEx\plugins
  6. Game won't have the mod running.

I ran Thunderstore through VirusTotal and came back with a flag, so I don't wanna touch it.

Expected behavior
When starting ROUNDS, it would have the mod running.

[BUG] Chilling Presence effect looks like a meatball

Describe the bug
When RWF is loaded, the chilling presence effect looks like a meatball

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Load Rounds with RWF and its dependencies. Any other mods are optional, they don't seem to effect the reproducibility.
  2. Go to sandbox and spawn Chilling Presence
  3. You are now a meatball

Expected behavior
Expected Chilling Presence to not look like a meatball

RWF + UnboundLib Compatibility Issue

RWF v2.2.0 + UnboundLib 2.11.1 does not appear to be working.

Last working compatible versions that I got working is:

  • RWF v1.3.0
  • UnboundLib v2.9.0

Rounds the game just Updated

Rounds had an update a few days ago, please Update the mod.

Remote Play Together Not Working with Controllers[BUG]

I've been trying to get friends to play with Remote Play Together, and have them all connect to me, and we play with controllers. Only problem is, with RoundsWithFriends enabled, none of their controllers work. I was able to narrow it down to this mod being the issue. I only enabled this mod, and their controllers don't work, but when I disable it, and enable any other mod, remote play works just fine.

Unable to shoot or block

Whenever I play multiplayer with friends, I am unable to shoot or block for a random amount of time. Generally it takes about 15-30 seconds before I can shoot or block. Downgrading from V 2.2.2 to 2.2.0 showed a delayed 3...2...1... countdown.

Local Co-op

If you make a local deathmatch/team deathmatch game as only one player, you cannot start a game and you cannot quit out of the game without using alt+f4. I cannot speak for if you have 2 or more players though as I do not own any additional keyboards/controllers to test that on.

Option to randomize spawns of players

An option that, when enabled, would stop players from always spawning in the same formation every time would be nice. With 4 players, it feels like the beginning of each match is the same fights without this option

Controller Support for Online Play

My friend plays on a Windows tablet and requires playing with the controller. The game itself HAS gamepad support, but when we use ROUNDSwithFriends and play online, and then when the match starts, she can't use her controller. I'm guessing it's forcing the use of the keyboard and mouse to play online, but it makes it so she can't play without a keyboard and mouse.

She says she can kinda workaround it by making Steam use her gamepad with mouse and keyboard controls, but it's much harder to play, and she would really prefer to be able to use gamepad controls the same way that it does without the mod.

Expected behavior
The expected behavior is that the gamepad should still work for online play, the same way that it does in vanilla.
