Shrink acceptance to $4\times8;\mathrm{m}^2$

Shrink vessel

  • Probably possible to scale geometry by scaling quantities wx, wy which determine the size of all segments
  • Easy to implement, but due to the complexity of the geometry, plenty of room for this to go wrong

Tracking stations

  • shrink in $x$: shorten straws?
  • shrink in $y$: reduce number of straws?
  • Againk not too hard to implement, but potential to break the geometry

Magnet

  • Two parameters exposed to determine $x$ and $y$ dimensions, remove $0.5;\mathrm{m}$ in $x$, $1;\mathrm{m}$ in $y$
  • Easy to implement and to check
  • What do we do about the magnetic field?

UVT

  • Reduce number of strips?
  • Some more investigation needed (will contact SND experts)

Adjust cave dimensions and floor

  • Cave defined in passive/ShipMuonShield.cxx, easy to modify to new dimensions.
  • $2.5;\mathrm{m}$ trench under decay volume $25;\mathrm{m}$ long

Replace SND with a "black box"

  • As a first guess, replace SND with 5 walls of $1.2\times
    3.4\times0.8;\mathrm{m}^3 \left(x\times y\times z\right)$ tungsten for a
    detector of $5;\mathrm{m}$ length and acceptance matching the entrance window
    of the scaled vessel
  • Fairly easy to implement
  • How much of the muon stations do we remove
