Lab 1: Securing Applications by Using Amazon Cognito Lab overview and objectives In this lab, you will configure an Amazon Cognito user pool, which you will use to manage users and their access to an existing web application. You will also create an Amazon Cognito identity pool, which will authorize users when the application makes calls to the Amazon DynamoDB service.

After completing this lab, you should be able to do the following:

Create an Amazon Cognito user pool.

Create a user by using the user pool.

Update the example application to use the user pool for authentication.

Configure an Amazon Cognito identity pool.

Update the example application to use the identity pool for authorization.

Connect to the AWS Cloud9 IDE:

In the AWS Management Console, from the Services menu, choose Cloud9.

Notice the existing IDE, which is named Cloud9 Instance.

For that IDE, choose Open IDE.

The AWS Cloud9 IDE loads in a new browser tab.
