Hi litghost,
We recentoy introduced a change where we support different FPGA
configurations. Unfortunately, it defaults to a blank revision
(configuration), in the mean time please try the following,

  1. run the Nios command line tools (usually called "Nios II 12.1 Software
Build Tools for Eclipse", it can be under under "Altera" in the start menu")
  2. find the repository and cd to hdl/quartus/
  3. run "mkdir work ; cd work"
  4. run "quartus_sh -t ../bladerf.tcl"
  5. open the resulting Quartus project file ( make sure it's the one in the
    work directory)
  6. the top left pane in Quartus, should be called "Project Navigator", and
the tab on the bottom that will be selected is "Hierarchy", change to the
"Revisions" tab, and double click on "hosted"
  7. follow the rest of the README

Sorry about the inconvenience, we wiil release an updated guide this week.

I was compiling the FPGA image via the instructions provided in the
README, however when I preformed the:
"c) Synthesize FPGA image
i) Processing -> Start Compilation"

step, the following error came up:

Error (10793): VHDL error at bladerf.vhd(7): entity bladerf does not have
an architecture

What am I doing wrong?

I am running Quartus 12.01sp1 64-bit on Windows 7 64. I started following
the README process with a clean version of the bladeRF repo at revision

That worked. Let's leave the ticket open until the documentation reflects the latest build process. I change title to reflect the situation.

Modified README to reflect the new process. Will close once confirmation that the resulting FPGA images work correctly.

Builds seem to work and @rtucker has even setup an automated build machine.
