After writing a test for this behavior based on the nested alt examples in WritingWithInk.md, I've mostly come to the realization that nesting in this manner gets complicated and unreadable. With that being the case, and the implementation being pretty tricky with the quick-and-dirty way I've implemented the Util.findEnclosure method family, this feature might hit the chopping block.

See this commit for the test I wrote, and why the syntax is problematic--I'm not even sure what the expected output from Inkle's nesting example is! Can you process nested cycles and sequences in your head? Because I sure can't.

This ended up implemented as part of the great Parsing Overhaul. It seems to work!
