NodeBots Medellin was born after NodeBots Day.

MedellinJS meetup has 590 members an lots of people from the local community was asking for this Node.js hardware hacking meetup, so I created a blog (in spanish) http://nodebotsmed.tumblr.com and I'll continue with regular meetings around the subject (Also I need to do something with this hardware :p)

Also In October I'll be speaking and giving a couple of workshops about NodeBots at a technology event in Guatemala :)

NodeBots of London!

Everyone left NodeBots Day happy and covered in robots & ideas so I'm talking to the workshop about running it every 2 months, as that's sustainable for both of us. It'll be a collaboration with @andrew & London Node User Group and the Meteor London meetup.

We'd love to help out with RobotsConf however we can.

I will do my best to come since i had such a blast during Nodebot's day,
and about making local nodebot's day events, I'll start something in Paris,
because helping for nodebot's day London just made me realised that Paris
need one too :)
i would be glad to help for the RobotsConf as well

There is definitely a lot of interest in NYC. I know OnSwipe has their
space available, and @auremoser mentioned she'd love to organize. I wonder
what @FotoVerite's plans for nycjs are? I'd love to see the two related.

International NodeBots Day was a blast. Thank you to all the organizers
and participants. Many people asked me at the SF event, "what’s next?”

Well, if you aren’t going already, I hope you’ll join us in Florida in
December for RobotsConf http://robotsconf.com/. I would love to see a
number us there to share the experience of NodeBots Day.

Additionally, early on in NodeBots Day evolutionary trajectory, it became
clear that this really connected with a need to organize something local. I
would really like to see that happen. Like NodeBots day itself, I think
this will take shape in many different shapes for each of the individual
communities. In some cases, it might be worth creating a new meetup
altogether. In others, it could be a special meeting that happens in
conjunction with the existing Node or JS group.

There are a bunch of pieces that aren’t in place yet, but if I were to
imagine how I think this would turn out here’s what I have in mind. I’m
going to use the SF/Bay Area as an example, though it actually has a few
very unique considerations. What I’d love to see happen here is there to be
some sort of regular event, probably monthly. I’m going to try to find two
other co-organizers for SF. Then I think it would be great if both South
Bay and East Bay had their own things. @ceejbothttps://github.com/ceejbothas talked about organizing the South Bay and maybe
@maxogden https://github.com/maxogden would join in with the East Bay…
and hopefully they would also reach out for co-organizers. Then, once every
three months or so we’d come together to do a larger unified event together.

I’ve forked nodebots/www over to dshaw/sf. After I finish tweaking this, I
plan on moving this back to nodebots/sf so it will resolve like beerjs/sf.

What do you think? Sound interesting? Anyone else interested in doing that
in their area?

I'm going to be putting together a Nodebots South Bay, tentatively in September. I have a friend into hardware hacking who has volunteered his warehouse space in Redwood City for this. More details to come as I work things out.
