hivekit's Issues

Can't seem to get hive to run on startup

I'm running hivekit on a Raspberry Pi. It runs fine, and I've created a script to run it rather than have to type in all the details everytime, so all I need to type is ./Hive and it runs perfectly.

However, I can't get it to run on startup. I've tried the init.d method and the rc.local method and neither works.

Help!

HomeKit Remote

It would be great if this could support Homekit remote in order to remotely control Hive devices away from home.

iOS app compatibility

I’ve been frustrated by Hive’s lack of HomeKit support since having the system installed over a year ago. Therefore I was really happy to come across your hivekit system. After a bit of trial an error with installing Go and setting up GitHub on my Mac, I finally got the hivekit command to run.

Before I spend £11.99 on Home, I thought I’d test things out on a free alternative. So far, I’ve tried Ezzi Home, Insteon+ and MyHome App. All of them “see” the HomeKit Bridge on my network, but all fail to add it as a device, either giving a “Error – Client request error when communicating with the accessory” or “Unsupported Operation – The requested operation could not be completed” error before any request is made for the PIN.

I’m running homekit via the following command:
./bin/hivekit -username <my username> -password <mypassword> -pin 80808080 -verbose

The console output I get is:

2016/02/22 10:24:18 [VERB] Refreshing Hive status
2016/02/22 10:24:18 [INFO] Accessory IP is 192.168.1.108
2016/02/22 10:24:18 [ERR] bonjour: Failed to bind to udp6 port: listen udp6 :5353: bind: address already in use
2016/02/22 10:24:19 [VERB] Syncing status with HomeKit
2016/02/22 10:24:24 [INFO] Close connection and remove session

I believe the “bonjour” error is safe to ignore. The “refreshing” and “syncing” messages are repeated periodically, which I assume shows that hivekit is successfully communicating with the Hive website. The “close connection” message is shown every time I try to add it as a device.

I’ve tried the iOS apps on an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2.1. The hivekit command is on a Mac mini running Mac OS Yosemite (10.10.5). Both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. I’ve restarted the Mac and iPhone and the errors still persist. I’ve also tried resetting the HomeKit configuration on my iPhone (Settings -> Privacy -> HomeKit -> Reset HomeKit Configuration…) but that didn’t help either.

So, I have two main questions:

  1. Does anyone have any idea what may be going wrong for me? Is there any further level of debug information that I can access that may help diagnose the issue?
  2. Has anyone tried hivekit with any of the free HomeKit apps, specifically the three I’ve tried so far? Are there any other free apps I can try that you know should work?

Support multizone

Thanks for creating this project! It works perfectly with my down stairs heating, much better than the official Alexa skill!

It would be great if it could control more than one zone.

Hivekit working again

Well, I managed to get my I've working again and its connected to the Home app on my phone.

All I did was I deleted everything in the folder Hive\ Bridge and then ran hivekit again.

Stopped working today?

Hello all

Well done loving this!

I had this all working but it seem to stop today (iOS 9.3.4), I've restarted everything, but the bridge won't show on the Home app (tried two devices). I've reset the HomeKit data setting reloaded the app etc. But it seems Hivekit is not talking the talking to the Hive anymore. Also made sure all device are on the same wifi router.

Is anyone else having an issue?

Terminal I have the following log info....
2016/08/20 15:40:28 [INFO] Accessory IP is 192.168.2.12
2016/08/20 15:40:28 [VERB] Refreshing Hive status
2016/08/20 15:40:28 [ERR] bonjour: Failed to bind to udp6 port: listen udp6 :5353: bind: address already in use
2016/08/20 15:40:29 [VERB] Syncing status with HomeKit
2016/08/20 15:40:58 [VERB] Refreshing Hive status
2016/08/20 15:40:58 [VERB] Syncing status with HomeKit
2016/08/20 15:41:28 [VERB] Refreshing Hive status

But no further errors listed here, just the checking status on loop every 20 secs

Thanks

Richard
BTW also had problem getting hot water status.... "Is the Hot Water on?"

Error: Unrecognized import path "hive"

I'm getting this error when I try to install the packages:

./main.go:30: undefined: hap.Transport
./main.go:85: undefined: hap.Config
./main.go:90: undefined: hap.NewIPTransport

Please help!

x509 certificate expired hive api v5

Since today I am now receiving a comment that says unable to login post to long : x509 certificate has expired or is not yet valid ? Any one else getting this

Runs on Mac fine, but not on Raspberry Pi

So I've installed Hivekit on my Macbook, and on my Raspberry Pi. When I run it from my Macbook, everything is fine, I can add the bridge etc. to Home on my iPhone. However, when I run it from my Pi, it seems to shoe its running OK, but when I try to search for a new accessory, there is nothing new to add ( the Macbook is off, so HIvekit is not running from there, the previous bridge etc. have been deleted from Home).

Im fairly new to all this, could it be because Ive got Homebridge running on the Raspberry Pi and that is interfering with HIvekit?
