Sent messages don't immediately appear in history about nio HOT 8 CLOSED

I always found the different message text colors in Riot to be kinda weird and confusing.
Why are some messages red? Others green? And how/where can I find more info on the "why" for a given message?

I'd much rather prefer an explicit "❗️" icon like in WhatsApp for failed messages and have "in-flight" messages have a a nice sinusoidal opacity animation to indicate that it hasn't fully settled yet.

I believe there's another issue there - the messages never show up for me until I leave the chat and re-enter it again. I tested this and the messages appear on my desktop with small delay, while Nio never shows them.

Agreed. On iPad I've found that messages show up less often if the room list sidebar is hidden (e.g. in portrait), but do show up most of the time when in landscape with a split view showing the room list.
