Is this compatible with Adobe AIR applications?

I connected the swc with my Adobe AIR Project, i followed the example in the demo project but when i try adding it to the stage/container it gives me this error:

TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object refe
rence.
at nid.ui.controls::DatePicker/addCustomMenuItems()
at nid.ui.controls::DatePicker/updateUI()
at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/addChild()
