Chatbox not dynamic

Refresh necessary for viewing new message(s)
Incoming messages not instantaneous. Refreshing/reloading the page solves the issue. Text field in the chatbox non-empty even after reloading; refreshing sends the previous message again.

Expected behavior
Clearing of the chatbox text field on sending a new message; immediate loading of incoming messages without reloading.

Note: Issue reproduced on the deployed pythonanywhere site and localhost:5000.
