I just wanted to point out that the here link in the "Defining the Mapping Section on this page is out of date.

It looks like the tutorial here needs to have a GetByName using HQL example added.

We are active users of nhibernate and while using we have added some changes which includes bug fix and a new feature which our team think should be submitted back to the nhibernate code set. How can I submit the changes?
I have done below steps but it says permission denied.

• Took the latest code from Github. (using source tree)
• Made a specific change to a file.
• Tried committing the changes. Got "Permission denied error"

Please guide us so that current and future changes can be submitted

GitHub pages have gained https support for custom domains, since May 2018. But depending on how the custom domain DNS is setup, it may require some work to enable it.

And it looks like nhibernate.info needs some work.

According to the announcement:

• If you are using CNAME or ALIAS records for your custom domain, you’re all set and your site should be accessible over HTTPS.

  Well, that is the case for www.nhibernate.info, it uses a CNAME, but https://www.nhibernate.info fails.

• If you are using A records, you must update your site’s DNS records with new IP addresses. Please see our guide to setting up your custom domain with Pages and update any A records you might have set.

  nhibernate.info uses A records, so they would need some update.

Checking nhibernate.info records seems actually not up-to-date. They points:

While it should be according to Setting up an apex domain:

Updating them will not be enough according to the previous page:

If you're updating the IP address of an existing A record, first remove and then re-add your custom domain to the repository you’re using to publish your Pages site to trigger the process of enabling HTTPS.

So after the change has propagated, it will be likely needed to do that manipulation. Hopefully it will also fix the www.nhibernate.info case.

After that, and if that works, we could decide to enforce usage of HTTPS, redirecting HTTP to HTTPS thanks to a GitHub option. I think it should be done.

Registrar data seems to tell that is Oskar who handles the DNS. @oskarb?

I'm willing to submit a pull request with changes pertaining to this. I'd like to at least add the older version I'm using (3.3.3) in a project I maintain (and actively develop).

If you're open to this, I'll generate the reference docs for the version I'm using and take a stab at finding a suitable place in the site structure for it.

I'll also add instructions for others to add other versions. I could also do this myself, as time permits.

If you're open to adding API docs too, I'll investigate a suitable tool for automatically generating them.

Currently when I open the nhibernate.info Documentation page I see fully four ads. Three in vertical side bars plus a fourth one as an overlay footer.

Plus, when I opened the page there was a fifth one that opened full-screen covering all the content so I must interact with it to remove it.

I think this is too much advertising and it's annoying and looks unprofessional.

Is this actually generating any useful level of income? (and if so, where does it go?)

We used Nhiberante to store sting[] in one of the column. There is an application where we want to read the same data without using Nhibernate. Table column type is varbinary(max).How i can convert back in C#.Its very critical for me.Please help me. We are using ASP.net core hence i dint use Nhibernate

It seems nhibernate.info way of embedding links to Amazon books is obsolete. Books images are now missing, causing the site to look broken. (Home page and books page.)
On Amazon side, clicking their "embed" feature yield an iframe, which is not what nhibernate.info is currently using. Moreover the trouble should probably be handled by who has access to the Amazon account bound to these links, if any, in order to not lose this binding.

We have moved our development environment to a more modern Windows Operating System (Server 2016).

We are no more able to get our Web Services to work with the Oracle Database. The original Oracle Client we were using, win32_11gR2, won't install successfully. And using win32_12c Client does not seem to work either.

The message seen with 12c is "Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.OracleDataClientDriver".

So, which Oracle driver/dataprovider can I use on Windows Server 2016 with NHibernate Version 4.030319?
