This is a general problem with musl. Probably nothing to do with Rust.
Adding jemalloc, mimalloc or another memory allocator for musl builds conditionally might help.

v2 binaries show the same behaviour, so this isn't a v3 problem and thus likely not something to worry about right now.

Seems to be a general rust with musl issue, we might be having an allocation heavy workload that's particularly sensitive to this

Do we know if anyone uses our musl builds? We could also ditch the musl build if it's a headache.
