Things highlighted during the Google+ Hangout 2013-04-07

  • Information on this site for beginners
  • It doesn't matter what tools they use, commercial or open source.
  • How can you get started, or begin network booting systems.
  • Not just home users, but emphasize individuals and not so much corporations.
  • Home users see network booting in their BIOS, they wish to leverage the technology on a limited budget.
  • Free software under windows to allow network booting (Windows home server or Windows 7)
  • QNAP, Synology, Drobo, other type devices, with iSCSI
  • Two sides to network booting, storage and networking. One user might have good storage technology knowledge, but poor networking background.
  • Tutorial material is important, currently there is a lot of "reference" type material.
  • (How netsh (Net Shell) relates to network booting. Where applicable.)
  • Personal stories and experiences also would great.

_site/README.md versus README.md

Upon _site/compile gets the toplevel README.md overwritten with the content of _site/README.md.

Duplicated data did bite me :-/

Tools page - Rom-o-Matic down

The rom-o-matic.dev site no longer working. I suggest it be removed.

On a side note, does anyone know of an alternative to use?
