Allows to select issues and create a tag in the the repository of the associated project (currently only implemented for git). The state of all selected issues is then changed to a new (configurable) state (e.g. “released”). You can add a custom field to issues which will be filled with the created tags and allows to filter for all issues that were tagged with this tag.

A copy of the plugin can be downloaded from GitHub

1. Make sure the plugin is installed in vendor/plugins/tag_with_issues

2. Restart your Chiliproject/Redmine web servers (e.g. mongrel, thin, mod_rails)

3. Activate the module TagWithIssues for the projects you want to use it in

4. Add the permission to create tags for all roles that should be able to use the module

5. (optional) Create a custom field for tags. This field has to use the CustomFieldFormat Tags that is added by the plugin

6. Configure the plugin:

   • Major Version: If you configure a major verion, it will always be used instead of guessing it from previous tags

   • RegExp to validate tag names: If all your tag names must satisfy a specific format you can set a regexp here

   • Tag command: The default (git --git-dir=<repository_path> tag <tag_name> <commit_id>) works for local git repositories. If you have the redmine_git_hosting plugin installed, you can change the command to sudo -i -u gitolite sh -c '/usr/local/bin/tagrepo ~/<repository_path> <tag_name> <commit_id>', create a script /usr/local/bin/tagrepo that creates the actual tag with the above command and finally allow your chiliproject user to execute this command as the user gitolite

   • Tags custom field: if you configured a custom field in step 5, enter its name here

In the issues overview select some issues as you would for bulk-edit right click and select “tag” from the context menu. Enter a tag name, select a branch and commit and continue. The tagname is created as <major>-<minor> or <major>-<minor>-<extra> if no custom tag name is specified.
