I think maybe you selected a subset of proteins before you applied "Color > Charge" and thus the nucleic acids were not selected. It worked for me: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Structure/icn3d/full.html?mmdbid=7ODF&command=view annotations; set annotation cdd; set view detailed view; color charge

I get it, but that's not what I did. If I select Color and then Charge, I get nucleic acids colored red.

But if I open the Select menu and choose Property > negative - the negatively charged residues in the protein are highlighted but the nucleic acid is not.

Here are the commands that appear under the structure window:

load mmdb 7ODF | parameters &mmdbid=7ODF
select prop negative

And here's what it looks like:

I see. Thanks for the explanation.
I fixed the "Select > by Property" menu. It should work now.
