That's not the best way to install winetricks, basically, you are doomed on the same version. You either install it through some kind of package manager or repo, or include winetricks --self-update command somewhere to keep it updated.

And it seems it isnt able to install winehq-stable

Wine (originally an acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator")

And that's also what is currently accepted by the Wikipedia page for wine https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_(software).

you can get the latest release version number with something like this:

Is the curl link already outdated? I used the newest Mint available, so weird to see things are depricated.

Also, the script asked to install a kernel. When i do this, and boot up the computer, that kernel has priority to boot, but fails.
Something about the original kernel needs to be loaded first. When i select mint kernel in menu, i still boots fine.
