Could it be possible to implement the native Android X Servers such as Pelya's XSDL (https://github.com/pelya/xserver-xsdl) or even Termux:X11?

This would provide a configurable X Server (such as resolution and DPI) and reduce the overhead overall by cutting out the VNC server and Xvfb as a middleman. Pelya's XSDL also includes PulseAudio support allowing sound support from the Linux chroot and doesn't require root to run even.

I installed termux and termux-x11, ran the dextop installer script, and everything seems to be okay. But when I run container-session -o x11, it opens a window with the X logo that says "Not connected".

Is there something else I need to do to get the window manager running?

I got the following error after running the command and setting the resolution:

container-session -o vnc

This error is shown by the popping up bVNC window.

Use am to kill app that serves vnc:// intent when display is loaded to not have it hang in background and prevent other session(s) from loading.

Hello everybody.
I gave Dextop another try, and I noticed I don't have the top window bar in my windows in XFCE.
Why? I guess something went wrong with my installation, is it that?

When I have read yours readme and when I have analysed yours scripts, I would like to ask you as A experienced professional about issues, caused by The fact, that we can not run real Linux kernel in userspace variants of Linux.
For example.
Gnome-session refuses to run since system bus not available.
some /dev/fuse for example will not work.
Do you think, that is there any even complex task available, which would allow even Termux users to use dbus correctly? Try to dream and imagine, that there would be some C or C++ language expert, which would be able to extend dbus binary so it would work. Soo mate-session would not be forced to display warning message.

Sure. I Am aware, that if I would like to have fully professional Linux experience, we would had to run Kqemu and Qemu, which would execute real Linux kernel and all other Linux modules. But this is not realistic anticipation. Rooting Android devices is very very complex especially for Android newer than 6.0. Using phone which have been produced with Linux kernel is also not good idea. Those phones are expensive and it is good to have A combination of Android and Linux.

Any opinion will be very nicely accepted and we could even debate together outside Github.
I have analysed many various Linux distros for Termux.
The most annoing problem is, that system bus can not exist without real Linux kernel which would had to be executed by using qemu. Qemu without Kqemu is extremely slow. In this case user would end with very slow distribution. Using desktop environment is impossible in this case.

this project is amazing btw!

It happens at the beginning of the script. I literally left it running overnight, but nothing changed. Can I just skip it? Termux is installed last, I completely reinstalled it before using the script.

I'm using a SM-G965F, everything went fine with a "classic" install (curl -s -L run.dxtp.app > dextop && bash dextop)
But, after deleting Termux' data and retrying installation with -c (curl -s -L run.dxtp.app > dextop && bash dextop -c), installation fails with errors:

After the Dextop installation, I try to start using "container-session -o x11", the termux-x11 app opens, the prompts are "[ termux ] >_ $ container-session -o x11

So everything seems to be ok but nothing appear in the X11 window. I have a black screen. Is this not supposed to open the ubuntu container running the desktop ? Same using VNC..

I've completely wiped the temux data and installed fresh. Ran the dextop script with no error. I appear to be connecting correctly, however the vnc client gives me a black screen with mouse cursor.

I tried installing it but after a while of downloading it gives an error saying this : " /data/data/com.termux/files/home/.local/bin/frobulator: line 1282: cd: /usr/share/icons: No such file or directory "

Hello, tried installing this and when I paste the prompt to install nothing happens :(

After installed dextop on termux i am just trying to start container-session it opens VNC and VNC says it cant be connected.
