After building and installing e63a694 and then filling in the settings dialog, the first time I clicked OK resulted in a crash. It does appear to have stored my settings correctly, and after restarting the application I can open settings and click OK without issue.

It would be good to be able to select the audio input and output rather than always going to default -- I sometimes run multiple audio interfaces. (Include Pulse Audio)

I would like to see Latitude/Longitude updated in realtime using gpsd (or optionally a serially attached GPS). A default Lat/Long should be available if valid GPS positions are not available. Once a GPS position is found, look for updates and update in the program. If the GPS goes 'offline' retain the last known good position for a period of time (15 minutes?) -- this would be useful for mobile and portable operation.

For Raspberry Pi and similar SBCs allow a configurable pair of GPIOs to act as PTT and an incoming data detected state (e.g. COS equivalent).

Compiled and installed on Raspbian Buster:

make install fails, must manually copy announce/* files and DigitalVoice.glade
host files not copied at install

Does not retain latitude in settings.
