mmm-easyback's Issues

Module plays PBS's "Storm Over Everest (The 1996 Disaster)" instead of saved video??

Ok yeah really weird, I have no idea how to describe this because I've never seen something like this before

Yeah so I'm installing this module, and I load a usb drive to the pi to copy a 5 minute video of the Seattle skyline as the chosen video. I copy the file into the video directory "MMM-EasyBack/videos/"Rainy Seattle.mp4", and add it to the config.js, which now looks like this:
{ module: "MMM-EasyBack", position: "fullscreen_below", disabled: false, config: { videoName: "Rainy Seattle.mp4", height: "1080px", width: "1920px" } } }

So I'm like, "Alright cool, easy installation" and restart it. Imagine my surprise that instead of playing my video, it was playing this YouTube video of the Storm of Everest, a PBS documentary. I have no idea where this came from. I checked the code and I don't see where this came from. I'm just really confused about how this is happening. I know this is old, but if anybody reading ever comes across this and has a similar issue, please let me know. For now, I'm just going to try and use the default jpg picture that's on file, since it looks decently nice (no hate to baboons).
Thanks

Playlist

Would it be possible to add the possibility to play several video files ?
Either all files in the videos directory or via a list of files in the config ?

Optional parameters :

  • Pause between 2 videos
  • json file for the playlist

Video background Stops lopping

Hi Mykle. thanks for the awesome module. I noticed that if I add a video background, it will loop for a while, but eventually stop. Do you have any ideas on what can be modified to keep the file looping indefinitely?

"Attachment is not renderable" but still works for 30min until it freezes

I have narrowed down a strange repeated error message to this module:

[18300:0807/200215.038388:ERROR:gl_utils.cc(398)] [.RenderCompositor-0x5f733c00] GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION: Framebuffer is incomplete: Attachment is not renderable.

Despite the error, everything seems to be working fine for the first 30min to an hour but after that, the looping video background just stops

Info:

  • Using a Raspberry Pi running the default OS
  • Using an MP4 file running locally for a backdrop, MP4 is 4 seconds long and is repeating
  • Also happens with the default baboon.mp4 file
  • I am getting a different error on launch, but I don't think it has to do with it
MESA-LOADER: failed to open kms_swrast: /usr/lib/dri/kms_swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: Permission denied

can't resize gif

I can´t resize the gif that i have on the background, tried with the height and width but it didn't work. can anyone help me?
