Mu is an accumulation of 10 years of work in the field of cloud based development platforms. Unfortunately most of my experience has been around needing to stand up significant amount of infrastructure before doing anything meaningful. The complexity of that layered architecture also means a number of moving parts or abstractions that make life difficult in the long term. We're also beholden to the operator of these platforms or the struggles of managing these things ourselves. Serverless hasn't really offered a great alternative because again were still tied to a hosting provider or having to deal with many bespoke services.

My goal with Mu is to attempt to create a unified simple and self hosted app platform that potentially does away with a lot of the complexity of the past.

I'll also be looking at the appropriate methods of sharing apps each individual hosts and how we can effectively create some sort of shared economy and community throughout that. More details soon.
