Sometimes there is nothing on the Google Maps that can be used as an anchor for 
a custom map. For instance, when we develop a project of a gas tubing in a 
forest. We have correct GPS coordinates of some points, though (obtained by our 
land surveyors). It would be great to allow alternative way to enter the 
coordinates manually. As a side effect, it would allow to make such maps 
offline, without using Google maps.

When a map is active, its name is not visible. It would be good to be able to 
see what map is being displayed, at least on tablets with enough screen size. 
Could you add an option for this?

Hi,

ive tryed to install costommaps but ive got the following error:

E/PackageManager(  424): Package com.custommapsapp.android requires unavailable 
shared library com.google.android.maps; failing!
W/PackageManager(  424): Package couldn't be installed in 
/data/app/com.custommapsapp.android-1.apk


so please remove the dependencies of the propitiatory library 
com.google.android.maps

If the map is a transparent PNG with black lines, it is impossible to set 
reference points, because the app background is also black, so lines are 
invisible. It would be nice to be able to set the background in app settings.

It tells me it can't load a map because it is too large. 
What is biggest map it can load?

The 12 Mpx limit is very strict. I often need to have lengthy maps (8-10 km 
long) with a descent resolution, this gives about 30-50x more pixels. Although 
those maps are 8-bit images of CAD drawings, and tend to be quite small for 
this magnitude, but still this is very CPU and memory consuming to process such 
bitmaps. And I have to split them to 12-Mpx chunks.

It would be great to be able to use vector images as maps. This way, I could 
export the map from my GIS to a supported vector format and use it as a whole.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
1. It would be great if the app could record and draw a track
2. A page could show the statistics of the track (length, time, average speed, 
moving time, moving speed, etc)

How can draw polygon?

When a map is active, the Menu ellipsis is shown in top right corner, but is 
inaccessible (it doesn't show a menu when touched, nor when a menu button on 
hardware keyboard is pressed). This makes it impossible to change a map, and 
use other functions such as create a new map, calibrate existing maps etc. And 
as the app automatically starts a map that covers the current location at 
startup, this makes troubles using it.
