Gree Extension for Home-Assistant built in integration

Allows setting different swing positions for the default Gree integration.

Usage:

service: gree_ext.set_swing_mode_ext
target:
  entity_id: climate.eeeeffff
data:
  swing_mode_vertical: FixedMiddle

Usage on UI:

Create a new button for example.
Set the action to Call Service.

Add target to the action. This can be an entity, a device, or an area (will control all the gree climates in the area).

Make the desired changes.

Custom Component Installation

Copy the custom_components folder to your own hassio /config folder.
In your configuration.yaml add the following:

Cannot configure - Error

Dear All,

I've installed the module via HACS and configured accordingly:

Custom Component Installation
Copy the custom_components folder to your own hassio /config folder.

In your configuration.yaml add the following:

gree_ext:
..........................
I got his error:
2023-11-01 20:27:10.724 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Setup failed for custom integration gree: No setup or config entry setup function defined.
2023-11-01 20:27:10.898 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Unable to set up dependencies of gree_ext. Setup failed for dependencies: gree
2023-11-01 20:27:10.898 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Setup failed for custom integration gree_ext: (DependencyError(...), 'Could not setup dependencies: gree')
......................
However, I've configured all the 6 Gree climate one by one in a climate.yaml file and all the 6 GREE climate is able to control from HASSIO.

I do not know what I missed or where else to find the issue.

State reporting

Hi @mullerdavid !

Your plugin is absolute must-have for total Gree functionality, but I have one question. Could you please integrate state reporting as a function? For proper - custom - button handling (as lamella manager buttons) on the GUI, it would be perfect if we could know the current state of the lamellas.

Anyway, lot of thanks for your plugin!

Is it possible to add "current_temperature" to an external temperature sensor?

Hi, @mullerdavid !

I have a problem with the "current_temperature" of my AC, my Gree A/C doesn't support "current_temperature" property and shows a wrong value of "-35", so is it possile to add a feature in this GreeExt that I could set the value of "current_temperature" from an external temperature sensor?

Exception when loading

After updating HA core the configuration check produces a message:
Component error: gree_ext - Exception importing custom_components.gree_ext
The component cannot be loaded any more

noob issue

Hi,

i am really noob, now i did the following:

install the integration thru HACS.
added the gree_ext: to my yaml file

nothing worked, i know i missed the copy part cuz i am not sure how to get it (or did i do something wrong)

BTW.... this is a good work u did
