Hi,
I tried to create an app using Fluid.app pointing at http://emoji.muan.co, unfortunately though this will open up a new window, instead of opening in the current window.
What's going on? 😉
Cheers!

This is a Public Service Announcement:
I've just finished the work in #130 which adds Emoji character into the keyword library(the .json
file). I have also pulled the file out into its own repository muan/emojilib, and have it published onto 🐦 bower and 📦 npm.
The Emoji Searcher site content still lives here, and it uses bower to get the keyword library. If it is the library you're after, go 🌟 and 👀 muan/emojilib
✌️👑
Is there windows support for this plugin? And if so how do we pop up the search on git bash/ command prompt on windows?
🐙⚡🐱 =
See https://travis-ci.org/muan/emoji/builds/55139956 amd #132 for details.
emoji这么玩才有意思。
Had to make a pull request to remedy the issue ;) sorry! Btw, I like the look of Scribble, testing out now :)
Some of the newest emojis need to be added, like a lot of flags such as the Chilean flag for example.
Please

By using the keyword Family_man_woman_girls couldn't find the family emoji, whereas on the emojikeyboard.org, I was able to find it. Hope this will be sorted.
Hi,
I'd like to contribute to the index by adding Chinese Pinyin as indexes, so Mandarin Chinese users could search on the index much more easily.
But it would be better if there were something like an option to specify the language, so the added keywords won't disturb a typical English (as I understand is the default) user.
Some sample data:
"smile": ["xiaolian", "kaixin", "kuaile", "youqu", "haha"],
"blush": ["xiaolian", "weixiao", "kaixin", "kuaile", "lianhong", "haixiu"],
"fearful": ["haipa", "jinzhang", "tante"],
"angry": ["shengqi", "fennu", "fanu"],
"sleeping": ["shuijiao", "kun", "fankun"],
😂
Having a higher-resolution image sprite for retina displays would be amazing.
I would just take the images from this project but it doesn't seem to be as complete as this one is.
What tool(s) do you use to build up the single sprite image? It would be great if we could build our own sprite image from individual high-quality emoji images.
I just github clone this repo and run it as localhost and I got this error.
GET http://localhost/javascripts/emojilib/emojis.json 404 (Not Found)
What is the problem?
I'm having issues testing. The emoji.png resource is not loading, and the error message given is: The requested URL was not found no the server.
the unicode of ⌨ is \u2328. It is not contains 2 unicode, but it looks like a emoji and can not be filtered, interesting.

re: #111
If you want to find an emoji with spaces between words (e.g heavy_dollar_sign), you must type in the underscores manually instead of the search filling in the spaces with underscores manually.
E.g:
Works (putting in underscores manually):
Does not work (can't find emoji if I don't put in the underscore):
I think this line will always be true since comparing two arrays will always yield not equal.

Hello, I have a issue ,Would you mind give me some help?
I used emojilib in React and node; if I set "font-size: 100px" in my less file,the emoji can't show in Android mobile phone, but it can show in Iphone. Somebody could help me?
helllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooooooo🎈
Tried copy and paste in Safari, where I don't have Flash, and it silently failed - button was still visible and I wasn't presented with an error message.
Copy and paste behavior works as expected in Chrome (where I have Flash)
I'm not sure how the searching works, but I'm thinking that maybe the following prioritizing would be good:
:art:
should be the first when searching art
).art
is a good example (would be nice to have :art:
as first result):

Given #130, I'm considering adding a warning/announcement on the site to tell people that we're moving over to using native emoji, and for those who are using OS or browsers that don't support native emoji should do something about it or the site would be.. not as useful.
Current usage breakdown:
47.39%
⭕18.80%
❌18.00%
⭕12.95%
⭕1.59%
❓0.68%
⭕In Windows we then have 62.78%
using Windows 7(no native color emoji), and 31.14%
using Windows 8+(yes native color emoji).
Now that the queue feature is gone, I find myself wanting to copy multiple emoji but has no way of doing so. 😢
Is there one?
This month version 7.0.0 of the Unicode Standard has been released, adding approximately 250 new emoji. 🎉
For the full list of new emoji additions, see: http://emojipedia.org/new-emoji/
@muan this is more of a heads up then an actual issue, so feel free to close it.
I love the chrome homepage in the gif on the README page.
I have searched google but can't find it.
Could you tell me how can I get it? Is it made by yourself?
This would be an interesting exercise in UI for emoji searchs, especially in a smartphone context.
You can get a large search space with specially crafted questions asking yes or no. This is good for small screens like say an apple watch.
Windows comic chat has an interesting UI that allows for selecting based on emotions and intensity of.
It might not work as well for finding non-emotive icons like house etc... But the wheel can be used if icons can be arranged by regions of a wheel.
Woops, sorry. Browsing too much... meant to be in the emojilib.
It would be cool to have an option to copy the unicode character instead of :emoji:
. 💡
Hello, I want to contribute to this project as my first open source project; however, I don't quite understand how the search function works.
I'm assuming speedy.js is where it all starts because that is where the "search" function resides. However, I don't get what happens next; why does search call setRelatedDOMVisibility and what does the ga function do?
Thank you :)
-I hope this is where you ask questions.
In the demo th :fu:
(:fu:) shows up as the :thumbsdown:
(:thumbsdown:) emoji since the s_fu
CSS class apparently does not exist, yet the "fu"
item is defined in the json file.
i did a quick manual look over of the image sprite, and I did not see the 🖕 icon. I may have missed it though...
On the demo page, you can run the following bit of code in the JS console to return all the emoji classes that have a default background position of 0px 0px
or 0% 0%
$(".emoji").filter(function(){
return $(this).css("backgroundPosition").replace(/px|%/g,"") == "0 0"
}).each(function(){
console.log($(this).attr("class").replace("emoji ",""))
});
Currently if you search for cat
, chart
or bureaucratic
will be a match. Ideally it should only match words that have the whole cat
string in it, not just the 3 alphabets. Like catastrophe
or wycats
. :)
