after finishing chapter 8, this will hopefully be tied to the commit for that code and moved to the 'done' column.

should establish the game loop and talk a bit about threads. a runnable game at the end of the chapter.

should have the ball class started, but there is more about collisions in chapter 11

should give an out line of the bat class and start some helper methods
