Can I do multiple option sets

When I create an option set entity it saves under a name. I then use that to merge queries in power BI to show the gap_label. If I create a new option set, then it erases my old option set and causes issues with the data.

Is there a solution for this?

Best,

Austin

PowerBi Option Set Entity not visible in CRM Dynamics 2016 Online update 1

We have been using the PowerBi option set utility in xrmtoolbox since its first release. Previously we used it with Dynamics CRM online 2015 and it seemed to work well. We have also upgraded 2015 CRM online to 2016 and it continues to work. However, when we use CRM online 2016 Update 1 as the base, the PowerBi Option set entity is not visible in CRM Dynamics online customizations, nor can PowerBi Desktop find it. We are able to connect to the correct org, and create the powerbi option set and update the values. Everything seems to work fine with no errors. However, when you go into Dynamics the entity is not there. i have now seen this multiple times on different CRM online 2016 update 1 environments.

Error when creating entity

entity on powerbi
error optionset

Hi,
I'm getting an error when creating the records for the option set selected. It says something about a missing attribute with name 'gap_value'.
The gap_ entity is created but with only one record.
I'm attaching the image.

thanks a lot!

Error creating entity

I'm using the latest version of the tool and being met with this error when trying to create the entity.

If I try to create it again, I see the following error about missing columns.

I've tried the following without any luck..

  • deleting the entity and creating again (multiple times)
  • removing the CRM toolbox from appdata and 'reinstalling'
  • manually create the missing columns as mentioned in the error but there are a lot more missing that needed recreation. still didn't work after that as the types and options are probably not correct.
  • attempted to create the entity in different environments within the organization

Any advice and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Issue With Two Options Fields

Hello, I'm using the plugin to retrieve labels for Option Sets and Two Options Fields from my CRM Online to do some reporting with Power BI.

I can't understand why but only a few two options fields are available to be selected through the plugin, others - identically defined - two options fields are not shown by the plugin.

Anyone can help me about?

Thanks a lot!

IT killed my connection

My IT department killed my connection to Dynamics through XRMToolBox, is there any way to run this process inside my implementation? I have the Power BI Option Set XRef entity created in my instance from a few years ago, but it's outdated.

Option Set Values Not Removed During Sync Process

Was using the 1.2016.10.2 version of XrmToolBox with CRM Online 2016 v1. Issue or not, the functionality of the product works well when adding new Option Sets. However if I open the product and uncheck an option set then that option set should be removed from the Power BI Option Set entity table right? However the option set values in the Power BI Option Set entity table are not removed, thus leaving the option set in question unchecked and entries remaining until you reload them all. When clicking the reload simply rechecks the option set in question as synced. If that is the case then single entries that no longer exist in the CRM Option Set aren't removed either and furthermore unchecking an Option Set does not remove the related values from the Power BI Option Set entity table.

Since this is a custom entity used in conjunction with Power BI for easily displaying Option Set descriptions, deleting entries that no longer exist would be amazing and not harmful to outside sources like Power BI. Since any admin trying to work with a set of data would resync their metadata like Option Sets to gain access to any new values and old values removed would be helpful in capturing data that has not been reassigned to a new Option Set value via CRM interface. I realize i can go in and delete values via the interface by setting up the forms for the custom entity but the sync process makes it so easy, I'm lazy and I love this product. Am I missing something? Is this an issue? Or is this functionality not possible in current release? Please advise, thanks!

Data doesn't refresh

I'm using PowerBI Option Set Assistant to grab option set data from Dynamics 365. For some reason newly created option sets don't refresh in Power BI when I refresh the data. is there something particular I need to do in order to get updated option sets?
