The About page(s) currently act a bit unintuitively. When you click on Dozer > About you are taken to this:
But Dozer > Preferences > About takes you to here:
I understand the current logic of having the double about pages, but I think it would make more sense if Dozer > About just took you directly to the About panel in prefs.
That would obviously involve including the logo and copyright info in the prefs pane.
Also, the GitHub link is not actually a link.
I also think 'Check for Updates' should be featured on the About page, right alongside the version info.
(Could also add it to the drop menu)
I have installed the app on my Mac 2018 model 15 inch.
Post installation only 2 round icons appear at top and nothing happens on clicking on them.
Please fix this as due to this the app is just not usable .
The preferences window current is titled 'General' or 'About' depending on which pane you are in.
It should just be titled 'Dozer' or 'Preferences'.
If I click something on screen that's not the menubar, and then I let go of the click on the menu bar, it unhides the icons. This happens to me a lot, and it could be fixed by having Dozer unhide on Mouse Down on the blank menu bar instead of on Mouse Up.
Hello, thank you for the app. Everything is working as intended, but Bitbar scripts keep moving themselves to hiding zone after Sleep/Reboot.
So you need to drag them out of the zone one more time
Hi, I need to hide the icons on the right, with the old icons hidden and new icons displayed.
Like windows that hide older icons and display new icons.
But now it is not. Please add this option. Thanks.
When I open it, I sometimes forget to close it. Can I set it up in the setting for more than one second to automatically close it?
A Dozer users primary objective is to toggle the menu items, so I think that action should follow the primary click; a left click. And make preferences a right click, or secondary action.
Just as the title, this is for trackpad user. I am more willing to left-click to hide other icons and do right- click to enter the setting. When using force touch trackpad, it's more comfortable to do left-click with one finger but not right click with two fingers.
Anyway, thanks for the project.
The welcome screen is currently incompatible with Mojave's Dark Mode. The text does not change colour, and becomes totally illegible. The rest of the UI seems to work
Since the update that added two icons, when I click an icon to show the hidden icons, that icon gets hidden, and I'm unable to expand them (even with a shortcut).
First of all, thanks for this awesome app!
There seems to be an issue with Firefox (stable, beta or nightly) when dozer is running.
The menus and drop-downs just stop working properly. You can access some drop-downs by trial and error or double tapping. I've tried to remove / stop several add ons to make sure it wasn't some weird incompatibility to no avail.
I've create a gif which you can see the weird behaviour.
I'm using 63.0.3 (64-bit) but tried with the nightly builds as well.
Cheers!
I understand the design language but my preference is just to have the dot at the left of my 'important' menubar items (clock, battery, sound). This means that when I click it to expand, there are two dots next to each other - this looks a bit jarring and is unnecessary - all functionality is possible using just the one dot. Could there be a preference setting to just hide the second dot?
Great app though - very useful. Glad I found it, and thanks for making it.
Tried v2 and v2.1 and none launched. Are anybody else experiencing the same problem?
Steps to reproduce:
The result is that the icons do not appear. The click is registered but it only leads to the menu bar disappearing.
Currently when you navigate to Dozer > About, the about window does not gain window focus, it opens in the background.
It works as expected after you've opened preferences, until you give focus back to another application.
If #8 is implemented this would be solved.
I've reverted to 1.1.3 because the 2.x versions hide the circle when Dozer is hiding the menu bar. Could this be an option?
As title said.
I 'm a Chinese user. Sorry about my English.
I failed to upload the screenshot.
Hi,
First off all I would like to thank you for great app!
It would be perfect if you could add option to preferences to allow autohide on startup of app.
Thank you one more time for your effort.
First off, love the idea & simplicity of the app! :)
I'm working with multiple displays - that's my MacBook Pro, and two monitors arranged as follows:
Now, when switching to those monitors, I always activate Dozer to show the items.
For that, I'd propose to add a small & configurable delay. When triggered, the app should wait for like 0.5s and then check whether the pointer is still on the menubar and then determine whether or not it should display the items.
#22 would also be a solution to the issue.
First off, this application is awesome, thank you for making it, and making it opensource!
The icons in the menubar unhide randomly, and not always, but it seems to do it when I CMD-Tab between screens and then click on another application. It could be related to #31 but it doesn't just happen when i'm on the menu bar.
Like the title :)
I want only use click to toggle bar status, Can you add this feature?
Currently when you use the shortcut to toggle menu items, the Dozer icon disappears.
It'd be nice to have the option to still have the icon so you can access preferences, and right click instead of having to use the shortcut again.
With smart mouse setting to Auto-Detect, the cursor keeps flickering, or changes from Mac cursor to Win cursor alternatively when smart mouse set to Optimize for games.
Quitting the dozer app solves the problem.
dear developper, I feel sorry to say also that
I really liked how it worked before, one of the best apps.
First of all, thanks for creating Dozer - it's by far the best, free, open-source solution to a messy menu bar that I've found ๐
One of the great things about Dozer is that it's open-source! But with the latest update v2.2.0
the source code has been removed from the repository which is slightly worrying from a security standpoint, especially since the application requires elevated accessibility privileges.
Just wanted to let you know that this looks like a red flag to me, and that I (and probably many others) will avoid upgrading the application until the source code has returned.
The current updater has no release notes, that should be added
Version: 3.0.0
MacOS Mojave 10.14.2 (18C54) on Macbook Pro 13" 2015 Late
Hey, first thank for the update @Mortennn !
In the last version welcome screen don't close after clicking on continue button.
It'd be great to have Dozer available and updatable via Homebrew.
https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#adding-a-cask
I've set as shortcut : Ctrl+Alt+cmd+F12 (laptop).
But when I use it the Dozer circle is no more visible.
Here is a little screencast: https://cl.ly/a589aa040751
About the circle, I like its simplicity butโฆ It's to big when closed.
As a designer, I suggest you two solutions:
โ Inverse the 2 circles : ๏ฟฎ Closed โ Open
so you can use the wider one when we have opened the circle
โ Use a filled circle for closed : โ Closed โ Open
It's like you filled the circle with apps that's why it's full
I think it make sens ๐
Just like icons unhide when we click on the empty part of the menu bar, it would be great if they'd hide on clicking the empty space too.
Some applications in the menu-bar and that opens by shortcuts, if they are hidden by dozer they simply do not respond (for example snippetsLab) and others like the translator 'Mate Translate', they open in any rare part of the screen. If you show dozer and then run those applicationes, there is no problem ... Maybe to have an account in the future.
Again...THANKS FOR DOZER!!!
Ever since I updated to the newest version, the app doesn't hide anything on the menu bar and is rendered useless.
The Dozer logo is visible in the menu bar on desktops, but not on full screen apps.
