oculus-sim's Introduction

oculus-sim

Web-based simulator of the Oculus VR headsets

Goal: to give a rough, qualitative understanding on various display parameters (resolution, persistence, etc) related to the Oculus Rift headset prototypes, given the constraints of portraying one display technology on another.

Viewable here.

todo

  • side by side comparison render
  • sensor drift => camera exhibits a slow but steady rotation
  • scene loading: multiple scenes, such as tuscany
  • enable finer grain control of shader effects

thanks

oculus-sim's Issues

Add other VR Headset ?

Can you add other VR Headset like VIVE and PSVR ? this project is very interesting by the way.
Congrats !

Add the other artifacts - especially chroma bleed off center

It is a good facsimile! can I request simulate the chroma bleed when there is high contrast away from the middle of the display. For instance compare text visibility in the middle of the screen to when the text is placed around the edge, the former is legible and similar to this, the latter position the same text becomes almost illegible.
Also I think you cannot avoid alias flicker and dot crawl even with a motionless headset. At least, I couldn't in the Vive, in minecrift.
