I don't think this is a bug per se. But this is a reasonable thing to expect the keys to do. We should implement this soon since it's simple.

Confirmed for MacOS10.4, but I see you already know about it.

My work on this can be tested here: lp:~thomasomast/mixxx/features_softstep

Nothing super fancy, just added shift modifier to the F and G keys to move at a 1/100 of a step compared to the normal 1/10 step. Is it desirable to leave it as "one keypress->one shift"? Or should functionality be added so that if you also keep the shift+key depressed a gradual, controlled crossfade is produced?

Thanks Tom -- all potmeter controls now have an _up_small and _down_small control.

Scratch my last comment, the error was in front of the monitor. Have not noticed that a Custom.kbd.cfg was active in the Preferences folder which has overridden the new softstep controls in Standard.kbd.cfg

In answer to Tom Mast's question, yes, a smooth, gradual crossfade when the shift key is held in combination with G/H keys should be added. fading in steps just isn't a 'natural' process. Gradual crossfading is also useful for when you might forget to pack the usb mixer or not be able to afford one!
