Nanoleaf recently brought out the essentials line of products. There are light strips and bulbs which run over both bluetooth and thread. If a user has a thread border router, it is possible to interface to the bulbs via IP networking. Some work to detail this is available at https://github.com/roysjosh/nanoleaf-ltpdu.

It would be fantastic to add support into this library to enable the home assistant integration.

Do you have any plans to add events support? Currently it updates via pooling and have quite a big lag. Also Canvas touch events are not supported at all.

Developers can register and listen to events from Nanoleaf Devices using Server-Sent Events (SSE).

As of firmware version 1.4.0+, clients will be able to optionally register for fine resolution, low latency, touch data stream from the canvas controller over a UDP socket, if the client has also registered for Touch Events.
