Is there any reason why this repository should be private? Same question holds for the other repositories under MIDL-Conference.
There is now a single openreview page to point to all MIDL pages: https://openreview.net/group?id=MIDL.io
We could a little logo link to this page next to the existing 4. I don’t know if you can find a nice icon for it.
On the left of the logo line we could have a tiny midl logo, linking back to the home page, because we’ll get a few more subpages I guess, with board, code of conduct etc. Not totally necessary but visually and aesthetically nice.
As this is that was implemented in the past for the conferences (MIDL-Conference/midl-website-2020#3, MIDL-Conference/midl-website-theme@30c0a10 ), it could be neat to add some image for the individual pages. Currently, they do not seem to have a very good preview:
I experimented very quickly (on my local 2021 website), but would changing the header of https://github.com/MIDL-Conference/midl-website/blob/master/pages/winter-workshop.md do the trick?
---
title: "Winter workshop"
opengraph:image: "/images/winter-workshop/background_cropped.jpg"
twitter:card: "/images/winter-workshop/background_cropped.jpg"
---
Might need to tweak https://github.com/MIDL-Conference/midl-website-theme/blob/master/layouts/_skeleton.html#L22 also, not fully sure of the logic of that code.
I think it would be nice to have a colophon at the bottom of the pages, with a small image link to the github repo, and to the midl youtube channel. Maybe we should link to the movies on you tube in some other way later, but for now a small link is good? I suppose we will post the 2019 movies on the same channel? (A separate discussion is if we should not rather use vimeo.)
Tom proposed to add a page similar to https://midl.amsterdam/aims-and-scope/ to midl.io. I guess we need to link from it from the home page. Could somebody do that? Once it is there I can edit the Amsterdam text a bit, to update it.
I was wondering, is the idea that the 2018, 2019 etc edition website are going to be placed in the same repository? Or do we put them in another repository (maybe for security reasons, so 2020 organizers cannot edit everything)? Or do we stick to wordpress for those sites?
At least on my computer using firefox as a web browser on a large monitor display, I can see that the margins and text position can change across differen pages, e.g.:
https://www.midl.io/ vs
https://www.midl.io/foundation.html
A quick and dirty screenshot overlaying the 2 pages with 50% transparency is provided for clarity.
We could just reuse the one from 2019: https://2019.midl.io/code-of-conduct/
Per @bramvanginneken e-mail, it seems that the MIDL board wishes to refer to the conference only as "Medical Imaging with Deep Learning". While this is a quick update, it should be coordinated across all midl websites (midl.io
, {2018,2019,2020,2021}.midl.io
).
Most of the updates are for the title on the main page, and sometimes small references inside the website (in the call for paper in the 2020 edition for instance).
I am willing to create pull requests for all websites, once this decision is confirmed.
