What are Microsoft Partner Resources?

The Microsoft Partners Resources repository consists of documents, learning resources, and other assets designed to aid partners in practice development, upskilling, certifications, and bringing their solutions to market. Brought to you by the Microsoft Americas Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team, empowering partners and driving digital transformation.

Contributing

This project welcomes contributions and suggestions. Most contributions require you to agree to a Contributor License Agreement (CLA) declaring that you have the right to, and do, grant us the rights to use your contribution. For details, visit https://cla.opensource.microsoft.com.

Modifying a document on Github

For infrequent or small updates, you can edit the file directly on GitHub.com without installing additional tools and software. Naturally, use whatever tools/editors you are most comfortable with. For a great explanation of markdown, watch this great video Markdown Explained in Under 10 Minutes by April Dunham.

  1. Make sure you have signed into GitHub.com with your GitHub account.

  2. Go to the page you want to edit and click the edit button near the top right:

    Edit document

  3. A fork of the project will be created in your account for editing purposes. Files in GitHub are written and edited using Markdown language. For help on using Markdown, see Mastering Markdown. Select the Preview changes tab to view your changes as you go. The editor will look like this:

    Edit document

  4. When you're finished making changes, go to the Propose file change section at the bottom of the page:

    • A brief title is required. By default, the title is the name of the file, but you can change it.
    • Optionally, you can enter more details in the Add an optional extended description box.

When you're ready, click the green Propose file change button.

    Edit document

  5. On the Comparing changes page that appears, click the green Create pull request button. A check will be performed and allow you to confirm the submission.

    Edit document

  6. A member of the team will review and approve your request, or if there are any issues, will respond with questions or comments.

When you submit a pull request, a CLA bot will automatically determine whether you need to provide a CLA and decorate the PR appropriately (e.g., status check, comment). Simply follow the instructions provided by the bot. You will only need to do this once across all repos using our CLA.

partnerresources's Issues

Content to add: Dynamics Project Operations

Putting these great links here to add to the LPR for Project Operations:

Add custom URL for GitHub pages site

Consult with GTM or steering committee for this task. They can help us understand the requirements around standing up a domain like partnerresources.microsoft.com.

DevOps Plan Link error

The DevOps Community Content link in the DevOps plan seems to be behind a reg wall I can't access.

URL Redirects for new Repo UI

How do we do redirects for current URL's: Several PTS's have been leveraging the repo and sending links to partners. If we change to new UI, this breaks those URL's. We need to get a way to redirect.

Create Searchable User Interface for S4 Content

The goal here will be to set up a powerapp that allows users to perform advanced search with natual language processing capabilities so as to locate content in the repository using keywords, synonyms, filters and facetted navigation.
This could use an indexer that crawls the content in the repo and then index them in Azure Cognitive Search or ElasticSearch so that we can use an app to find the contents.

Add tags page to main menu

Consider having the ability to collapse tag menus for better filtering and verify if the tags under each category can be in a proper list order https://github.com/microsoft/PartnerResources/blob/main/pages/tags.html.

Broken link on Information & Data Protection

The link for "Cloud App Security Proof of Concept (Self-Paced) (3 Hours)" on the Information & Data Protection page links to a generic search page. The content does not appear to be available any longer.

Edit this page button 404 error

Edit this page button assumes master is the name of our main branch. Need to force Edit this page button to point to main not master.

New Synapse Content

Now that Synapse has been released, can you revisit the Modern Data Warehouse plan?

Right hand nav menu and permailink automation

  • As a part of GitHub build use tags to generate the page menu items #### {% raw %}[DevOps](devops){% endraw %} . This can be done using some script based on these docs or include statement to populate a page based on the tags from that page.
Example: Display all learning plans with Azure App Dev tags.

or

  • Move nav items to nest menu that is N levels deep.

Navigation design considerations

Bundle resources under learning plans (includes azure, biz apps etc.) and other new content. This will have implications on the number of sub menus we can add to navigation.

We should also note that the navigation items must be manually defined in the index.md.

Self-Service BI Content missing

I would like to contribute the partner learning plan for the Self-Service BI (aka Power BI) learning plan (I have already created in the attachment). Please add a session where I can contribute to the readme

Link is broken when going back from AVS-Labs page to AVS main page

The link is broken going back from Table of Content to AVS main page, the reason is the extra forward slash appended to the URL.
This is the problem (notice the forward slash at the end)
https://microsoft.github.io/PartnerResources/azure/infrastructure/azure-vmware-solution/
This is supposed to be the solution:
https://microsoft.github.io/PartnerResources/azure/infrastructure/azure-vmware-solution

In addition, in the breadcrumb link, it should have vmware as: VMware
