Just a few suggestions

  1. We should likely call this idem_validator instead of pop_validataor. There has been significant confusion when naming things pop- and I am going to rename almost, if not all, projects that are named pop-
  2. You have a copy of traverse_dict_list in a utils file, we have run into this issue a LOT, where we have used dict traversal and management routines from Salt. So Tyler was good enough to make a new python lib with dict operations to make all of our lives easier:

  3. You are using my faulty get_ver function in version.py, it makes releases easier, but it does not work properly in the long run and I have been reverting these. I need a more solid vcs versioning solution, it was a little more complicated than what I expected. Optimally we can figure out how to not need a version.py file at all and autogenerate it during install.
