This repository contains configuration files for building a Docker image for the Subsonic media streamer.

Noteworthy

Volumes

  • /data --- Directory to store Subsonic's log, configuration and database
  • /music --- Default music folder
  • /podcasts --- Default podcast folder
  • /playlists --- Default playlist folder

Environment Variables

  • TZ --- timezone setting, default: Europe/Berlin
  • MAX_MEM --- maximum Java heap size in megabytes, default: 256

Build your own image

$ docker build -t <your-name>/docker-subsonic .

Get a pre-built image

A current image is available as a trusted build from the Docker index:

$ docker pull mbirth/subsonic

The repository page is at https://hub.docker.com/r/mbirth/subsonic/

Run a container with this image

$ docker run \
  --detach \
  --publish 8080:8080 \
  --volume "/local/config/dir:/data/" \
  --volume "/wherever/your/music/is:/music/:ro" \
  <your-name>/subsonic

Configuration Files not saving

If someone has problem with config not being saved then problem is within docs.

Code says:

ENV JAVA_OPTS="-Xmx${MAX_MEM}m -Dsubsonic.host=0.0.0.0 -Dsubsonic.contextPath=/ -Dsubsonic.home=/data -Dsubsonic.defaultMusicFolder=/music/ -Dsubsonic.defaultPodcastFolder=/podcasts/ -Dsubsonic.defaultPlaylistFolder=/playlists/ -Djava.awt.headless=true"
VOLUME ["/data", "/music/", "/playlists/", "/podcasts/"]

And docs says:

$ docker run \
  -v /wherever/your/music/is:/music/:ro \
  -v /local/config_folder/:/subsonic \
  <your-name>/subsonic

Above will not work, since data is stored in data folder, use -v /local/config_folder/:/data \ instaed of -v /local/config_folder/:/subsonic\

$ docker run \
  -v /wherever/your/music/is:/music/:ro \
  -v /local/config_folder/:/data \
  <your-name>/subsonic

Everything is in the title, I don't find config files...
You told about a /subsonicrepository but it doesn't exist
