I added the --colors option now to cbPrep and the "metaColors" option to the javascript code.
To add the colors, delete the treehouseCompendium/dataset.json file in your output directory, then re-run the "matrix" command while specifying --colors, then run the "html" command. "matrix" will write the colors to dataset.json and "html" will write the colors to the index.html. (this may not be very intuitive/optimal, but I don't have a better idea right now. The whole configuration system with dataset.json feels like it could be easier somehow.).
Alternatively, you can also add the colors yourself to the dataset.json file, e.g. like this:

"cluster 8": "0000bb"
}
The just run the "html" step again to get these values into the index.html file.
