socialfixer's Issues

Remove Like Notifications

I've been using Hide Like Notifications extension and really liking not obsessing over who has or hasn't liked my content. I find that I re-read my own posts and comments a lot less. It occurred the functionality would fit well within social fixer as well and wanted to suggest it as a possible feature to adopt.

Feature request: Force groups to show more recent post

Recently, facebook start ordering the post on groups by a relevancy parameter (whatever it is).
If you want to view the most recent ones, you need to click on a drop-down menu at the top of the post list, and select "New Activity" (not sure about since I'm not using the English version).
However, it reverts back to the most relevant setting every time you open the groups, similarly to the news feed switching from the most recent posts.

Because of that, I would like to ask if it is possible to implement an option on SocialFixer to preserve the setting (or even force) on the groups, as it is done with the news feed.

Userscript not working on Firefox

I tried installing the userscript and I got a type error, see screenshot (couldn't figure out how to expand the notification to view the entire error, unfortunately).

Hide Post

Hi there
Can you include a icon to hide the post on Facebook?
Thanks
Ricardo

Who of my friends live in X-town?

Years ago Facebook had a feature that allowed me to search for my friends who listed X-Town as their hometown. This feature is long gone. Couldn't SF recreate it? Scan my friend list and then display everyone in my friends list's hometown on a map or something? This would gather already data I already have access to but in a more convenient way.

Great feature when you are traveling: who lives in the town I am visiting next week?

Filtering by post action: Rule target doesn't exist (yet)

I'm subscribed to the Friend Activity Stories filter, which is configured to block posts where the "Post Action" "Matches Regex" "(.*(?:^(.*) commented on this\.(?:(?! \2 $).)*$|was mentioned in a post|was live| likes | liked |reacted to this|was tagged in|replied to a comment).*)"

It is not currently filtering out these sorts of posts. From the Filter Debugger, I see:
1.055000 Filter #6 (Friend Activity Stories)
1.055000 -> Rule target doesn't exist (yet): action; acting as if it were null

Feature Request: Hide All Shared Posts

When I go on Facebook, I spend most of my time clicking the "Hide All From..." button, because I don't want to see shared posts, especially from people I don't know. I only want to see posts created by the person making the post. I wish Social Fixer had a way to hide all shared posts and only allow original posts through.

Submit a Filter!

I'd like to submit a filter I created, which I think people will find useful; it's to hide the "Friend Requests" posts that show up in the Timeline. I was surprised SocialFixer didn't have it already.

Here;s the code for it; I just tested it, works great!

{ "match": "ALL", "enabled": true, "stop_on_match": true, "rules": [ { "target": "any", "operator": "contains", "condition": { "text": "Friend Requests" } }, { "target": "any", "operator": "contains_selector", "condition": { "text": "a[href*=\"/friends/requests/\"]" } } ], "actions": [ { "action": "hide", "show_note": true } ], "added_on": 1530641988380, "title": "Hide \"Friend Requests\" posts", "description": "Hide the Friend Requests posts that show up in the Timeline.", "updated_on": 1530642710386 }

Filter out any post with third party link

Is there any way to filter out posts with third party links? I'd like to filter out posts with people just reposting content and just see regular text status update posts or their own photo posts.

Feature request: Filter by words in photo

I find that some posts by-passed the filter by posting a picture with the words written inside. Is it possible to perform a word recognition from image and filter them as well? Thank you very much.

Feature request: Show all comments

Description
In order to use my browser's full text search in a discussion I would like to click a button to expand and show all all comments.

Expected behavior: I click on a ›Show all comments‹ button to load and expand the full discussion and am able to use full text search

Current Facebook behavior: I click ›View more comments‹ over and over again, when there are a lot of comments (as in the example) this quickly becomes so tedious that is de facto impossible

Actual source code?

This repo is empty except for a readme and .gitignore
Are there any similar projects to this which are truly open-source? I really think the features of socialfixer are great, and there's so much more potential but if there is no source code then that's not gonna happen. It's good as it is, but it can be better. If you truly care about the future of the internet (Yes, this is that big of a deal because Schmuckerberg wants to steal the future of the internet and this is one of the only practical ways to fight that) , then make this open source, and it could become more adopted and used by people once more features are added. Seriously, I hope you consider it.

Thanks

Feature request: Non-reactive commenting

It presents a countdown timer from the last comment (or original post) from 5 or 10 minutes that the user must wait before they can comment. This helps to reduce "flame-wars" and reactive commenting. Research shows that we are far more composed and wise in our comments if we are given time to reflect on what we say before we say it.

OLd-Layout

Hi Matt

Sorry to write here, there is a backdoor in facebook that returns to the previous state (old look) Change the User Agent to "ANdroid KitKat" and then prevent the subdomain m from being changed and restore the www

Feature/collaboration request - export posts to RSS

TLDR: Would it be possible to use SocialFixer components to extract FB posts as RSS? No matter whether as a SocialFixer feature or a separate extension. I'd like to collaborate on that.

Hello! Social media is pretty cluttered and uncontrollable . At this point it's a public fact that there are great amounts of behavioral research poured into grabbing our attention in the social media sites. That's probably the reason SocialFixer exists.
AFAIK RSS streams are the most universal form of content consumption and there are already a lot of tools around them. Having the ability to get FB content as RSS and filter it would be a game changer in the field, albeit probably not the most user friendly experience at first.

Possible to filter for engagement?

Hey there,

Just a quickie - I was wondering if its possible to say "hide everything with less than 1k shares"...?

I have to do a lot of searching on FB, and finding pages with good amounts of engagement is a real pain.

Thanks!
Geoff

A suggestion

First, Social Fixer is a "family saver" for me, because since around 2015 things got so bad and hateful that I pretty much left Facebook. Your extension allowed me to come back somewhat.

Meanwhile... a thought and if helpful can contribute some coding expertise (mostly a database guy) or time if it helps, that being that I wouldn't mind if the extension let everyone in my family (or a designated list of people) have all of their posts come through, plus the limit imposed by Social Fixer, sort of a code version of "select all family posts union with top XX of everybody else" order by _____ (chronological descending for me) . Could even make a split button? like show me XY more {included group} on the left, show me xy more {everybody else} on the right.

Thoughts?

Feature request: Hide similar marketplace listings from other groups

I'm finding that every buy & sell group I join which someone has re-posted a listing to just makes it so I see the same thing 5 times on my feed. Being in those groups makes my feed significantly more polluted with marketplace duplicates.

I'm not sure if it's reasonable to have a filter that automatically collapses all marketplace listings that have already populated the feed, but, it would really clean things up!

Thanks so much!

sponsored filter stopped working

v28 did great... till these last few days, now we're flooded again with sponsored ads...
doubke checked in options, filters were still on, makes no difference anymore

Sponsored posts are starting to defeat the filter lately

Looks like FB changed their code again, I'm starting to see Sponsored posts creeping into my feed. It specifically seems to only happen when the ads are from pages that other friends have liked.

I've attached a screenshot to show an example (I've blurred my friends' names)
