dtfe's Issues

Corrupt Gadget file error

Hi Marius,

I'm trying to use DTFE to make the typical 2D density plot showing the large scale structure of a simulation box. My input is a snapshot from the Quijote simulations (1 Gpc/h box). I took an old script that I had used a couple of years ago to run the same thing for an older project, so I only had to change the input dataset:

./DTFE input_dir/gadget.0 output_dir/test -f density_a -g 2000 2000 1 --regionMpc 0. 1000. 0. 1000. 50. 100.

The code seems to read the header just fine:

Reading 16849173 particle data from the input file. These particles are made from the particle species: 0 + 16849173 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 .
Allocating memory for: positions... weights... velocity... Done.

but then it crashes right after:

~~~ ERROR ~~~ The integers before and after the particle position data block in the GADGET file 'input_dir/gadget.0' did not match. The GADGET snapshot file is corrupt. The program ended unsucessfully!
I doubt the files are corrupt, as I've tried with different snapshots and I get the same thing. I'm guessing it could be related to the fact that there are 8 Gadget files on the folder, but DTFE seems to only recognize one of them, judging from this message:
Reading GADGET snapshot file '/cosma/home/analyse/epaillas/data/quijote/snapshots/0/gadget.0' which is file 1 of 1 files...
Do you have any guess of what might be the problem here? These are supossed to be Gadget-II files, which are presumably supported by DTFE, right?
Cheers,
