fediredirect's Issues

Reduce permissions

I wonder if it's possible to reduce the permissions a bit. I understand that it's not doable to hardcode all fediverse instances into the extension, but this extension somehow manages to work without any permissions (the one that's listed is optional). I'm not familiar with the extension API, but my guess is that you grant it permission to access the current page the moment that you press the button, instead of it working all the time in the background. Since it does something similar to your extension, I wonder if that would work for you too.

How do I use this?

Hi,
I came here from the libredirect issue and am pleasantly surprised that this exists.
It is just lacking documentation at the moment - Which browsers are supported? Is it just Firefox? What fediverse servers are supported? It looks like lemmy, mastodon and pleroma based on the icons found in the assets folder. Most importantly: how do I install it?

Lemmy => Mastodon does not do anything

Hi! First of all, love that someone is making this extension. It's something I was really looking for.

Unfortunately, the Lemmy => Mastodon Redirect does not work for me. When I click the button, nothing happens (as far as I can tell).

I have set up the Mastodon connection in the settings. I authorised the extension and copied over the code. My Mastodon instance is https://chaos.social, my Lemmy instance is https://feddit.de. The redirect does not work regardless of post or instance.

Add PeerTube support

PeerTube has the same problem as this solves for both Mastodon and Lemmy, it would be cool to have support for PeerTube in the same extension too.

Automatic redirect

After redirecting from a specific website once, it would be nice if that could get saved and optionally happen automatically in the future.

It would need a way to enable/disable this for each domain separately, though.
