mkesc-60100hp's Issues

0 RPM torque too low

All I can get, no matter what I do is 170W of power at 0 RPM with 80 amps. RT data shows 10% duty
tried 6.02 and 6.05 firmware, all types of sensored and sensorless operations, disabling/enabling phase filtering, setting current sampling mode to high current, different control modes - current, duty, changing observer gain, setting max power loss to 1000w, setting field weakening start to different values, changing zero vector frequency, changing current filter constant, abs max current, battery current max.. nothing helps((

If I set motor current max to more than 80amps - scratching high pitch nose and "overcurrent fault", with absolute max current set to 250A. Motor is 63100 - perfectly capable of 120A+ and it gave me insane torque with other controllers

I bought 3 of these controllers and they are no use for me if I can't get the torque out of them((

DRV8301 overcurrent protection fault

Hi,

It seems MKSESC 60100HP is best VESC compatible hardware. I use two of these ESCs with my own firmware. But I found some shortcomings:

  1. nFAULT line from DRV8301 is not pulled to VCC. This causes a false alarm on STM32 from induced voltage in case of motor current burst. I guess this trace on PCB is quite long.

  2. I configured DRV8301 with OCP adjustment about 0.22v but in fact I got OCP fault on ~30A of motor current. That the MOSFET on resistance is about ~7 mOhm. It looks like additional voltage drop is induced on PCB traces from MOSFETS to DRV.

Workaround:

  1. Raise overcurrent alarm only after 10 sequentially detection of nFAULT=0.
  2. Use higher OCP adjustment voltage >0.82v.

I hope you will take the comments into account in new versions of your products. Thanks.
