moodle-assignfeedback_mahara's Introduction

Mahara Assignment Feedback Plugin

This feedback plugin offers a purely supporting role to its submission sibling. If a teacher enables this plugin on a Moodle assignment that is using the Mahara assignment submission plugin, then any submitted Mahara pages & collections will be unlocked on the Mahara side once their Moodle submission is graded.

(Without this plugin, Mahara pages that are submitted through the Moodle submission plugin, remain permanently locked in Mahara, to provide a grading audit trail.)

The plugin has been deprecated and not required for Moodle 2.7 and above. Functionlity if this plugin has been added into assignsubmission_mahara plugin version 1.2-mdl2.7+.

moodle-assignfeedback_mahara's Issues

Unlocking grades when no grade is provided in the grading form.

The issue is related to #1. Assuming assignment has been submitted, teacher opens grading from, but provides no grade and click save. The assignment status in the grading table will remain the same ("submitted for grading", i.e. not graded yet), but the page will be unlocked at that point.

Page is getting unlocked on wrong state when Marking workflow is enabled.

Reported by Stephen Owens, learning technologist at Lancaster University:

The unlocking functionality needs some work, at the moment it doesn’t seem to work with grading workflow i.e. no matter what state I change the grading workflow to the Mahara page gets unlocked, I’d only expect it to become unlocked when changed to ‘Released’. It appears to treat any change to the quick grading form as feedback and then unlocks in Mahara.

Mahara Feedback checkbox should be disable (greyed out) if Locked submitted page option is set to "No"

Hi Tony,

This is an improvement request. In your documentation you wrote:

"If you set the Mahara submission option to not lock pages on submission, this plugin will have no effect. (Because there will be nothing to unlock.)"

Taken from your page: https://moodle.org/plugins/view/assignfeedback_mahara

Wouldn't be better if the Mahara feedback checkbox was greyed out (disable) if a teacher decides to select "No" in the "Locked submitted page" option? I know it's something small and probably picky, but I'm pretty sure that many users will complain because they won't take the time to read your documentation concerning this specific aspect of the plugin. In my case, I was curious enough to read :).

Thanks,

Melvin
