Dr. sc. Moritz Mähr is an Associate Researcher in Digital Humanities at the University of Bern and the digital project manager of Stadt.Geschichte.Basel at the University of Basel. He studied history and philosophy of knowledge, computer science, and banking and finance in Zurich and Berlin. From 2018 to 2022, he was a research assistant at the Chair for the History of Technology at ETH Zurich. He wrote a dissertation on the digitization of migration authorities in Switzerland in the 1960s. The study was part of the SNSF-funded project Trading Zones. His research interests include science and technology studies, digital humanities, and the history of computing. He is an advocate of open science, open access and open source.

20240126 Navbar not visible

Describe the bug
The navigation bar is not visible when accessing the site using the Brave browser on mobile. This issue prevents navigation through the site's sections.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open the Brave browser on a mobile device.
  2. Navigate to 'awesome-digital-history.pages.dev'.
  3. Observe that the navigation bar which should be at the top of the page is missing.
  4. No error message is displayed, just the absence of the navbar.

Expected behavior
The navigation bar should be present to allow for seamless navigation between different sections of the site.

Typos in issue templates

I've noticed a few typos in the title tag (unnecessary backslashes) of the issue templates.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to the issue template section.
  2. Select addition or change issue template.
  3. Check the title tag in the code.

Expected behavior
The title tag in the code should be free of typos and accurately describe the issue template.

timarit.is provides access to various sources relating to the Atlantic North West to investigate the region's history from perspectives such as politics, colonialism, nation building, literature, business, trade and industry history.

While I think about it: Iceland's national library Landsbókasafn also provides access to historical maps and medieval manuscripts of Iceland.
