atom-package-sync's Issues

Removing google access, and not being able to swap accounts

I needed to sync to another google account, but neither removing access to the package via google, or uninstalling and reinstalling the package let me set up a new account. Even after reinstalling atom the package is still attempting to sync to the previous account.

Am I missing something? I don't see any options for this in the setting of the package.

Didn't sync and removed all my settings

Hello,

Your package did not work.
I had all my config on my mac, downloaded and signed in with google.
I downloaded your package on my linux and it did not import my config.
Coming back on my mac, my packages are still there, but my config aren't.
I've lost all my snippets etc.

Not Sync Snippets and init.coffee

Update

  • Is there an easy way to know whether sync is still ongoing? From the code, seems it will show SYNC_SUCCESS_MESSAGE somewhere when sync is finished.
  • But it would be great if we know sync is still running, so we are not panic : )
  • also seems this doesn't sync disabled packages: maybe it should? or has one option to let the user choose to sync disabled packages or not. Or maybe its because Atom's limit: afer sync, the code can't disable them.

Fresh install Atom in another laptop and use this awesome extension to sync.

It indeed syncs packages and keymap.cson, but it doesn't sync snippets.cson and init.coffee.

Atom : 1.39.0-beta3
Electron: 3.1.10
Chrome : 66.0.3359.181
Node : 10.2.0

Thanks

Google login not allowed

Google doesn't allow to log in to it's account through a browser built into an application (Chromium Embedded Framework)

Packages and Settings not syncing

My packages and settings are not syncing.
I've updated my atom IDE and packages, but it's not syncing.
I've also tried to uninstall and reinstall this package and it's still not working.

This is unfortunate because this package was awesome.

Produces blank pop up window

This package produces a blank popup window each time Atom is started. There is nowhere to sign in that I am aware of but assume that is what the window should be doing. It does not sync anything.

Cannot log into Google account

The package has worked like a charm on Ubuntu 18.04 across multiple machines for months.

Now, on a fresh install of Ubuntu 19.10, I cannot log in with my Google account (Atom 1.41.0 x64 installed via snap, same as on other machines). I type in username and password and then Google refuses to accept that because the browser is not supported and security cannot be guaranteed. Might have to do with Javascript being disabled (it is in German on that machine, so pasting the exact message probably does not help). I have no idea what atom/atom-package-sync does internally at that point, so it is difficult for me to pinpoint things any further. Happy to do so if you can point me to something. Thanks!

Exclude fonts

Would be nice if we could have an option to exclude fonts specified in the stylesheet!

Blank Google login page on Ubuntu

I've been using your package sync package 2 macs for a while now and it's been great!

I just got it installed on my Ubuntu 16.04 Virtual machine but when I launch Atom, the google login popup (at least I think that's what it is) just comes up blank. Any ideas?

snippets not synced?

My snippets.cson file doesn't seem to be synced, while the Sync Settings checkbox is checked.
I get the "Packages synced successfully" popup at start up of atom.
Is there also a "setting synced successfully" pop up that I'm not getting?
I was expecting the snippets to be synced because that the case with the sync-settings package.

Does not use APM's proxy setting

I currently live in China where Google services are all blocked. Therefore I run a Shadowsocks client on localhost:1080, and used apm config set https-proxy=https://localhost:1080, with the intention of routing all packages' connections through my proxy so that blocked sites are accessible.

Unfortunately APS does not seem to use the proxy settings of APM, nor does it seem to have a proxy setting of its own. So unfortunately it's unusable for me at the moment. Github support would help in my case since it's not blocked (yet), but for others who might be behind some stricter corporate firewall it would not suffice.

So please, either have APS use APM's proxy setting, or add the ability for the user to set a custom proxy. Thanks.

Blank window instead of showing loggin to Google

I have used this package before and now that I bought a new PC I installed atom and install this package to sync my packages and config files but I got the issue that a blank window shows (actually this window show the loggin with Google) and I dont know what could it be... Any help?

Here's the link with a screenshot of the blank window. (https://ibb.co/hEj96e)

Thanks in advance!

Error: 502 Bad Gateway in Windows 10

Hi Everyone,
I've never had a chance to really use this sync feature as I was never able to successfully login to my Google account to start the sync. Upon first install of the package and restart of Atom, I was given the login window to my Google Account. When I tried to type in my email and password the popup window, the Atom/package froze and didn't alow me to submit my info. A few startups of Atom after that, the Google window was giving me a "502 Bad Gateway" message. This sounds like a really useful package for those with Atom installed on multiple computers, including myself. I would hate to see it abandoned. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Change Google account used for sync

Hello,
This is a great package. I am using it to sync between machines with Linux and Windows. It works great.

I was wondering how I could reset my google info, so I could switch to a different account to do the sync. I have tried uninstall/install and looking for config info in various atom directories, but I can't find a way to trigger this re-setup on the account info.

Thanks

Sync no longer working

Upon trying to add another laptop, I get this error:

Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Cannot read property 'content' of undefined
at fetchChanges.then.then.settings (C:\Users\username.atom\packages\atom-package-sync\lib\get-sync-changes.js:52:78)

None of my devices stay in sync anymore
