Ambience rEFInd Theme

Minimal theme for the rEFInd boot manager

Installation

Locate your rEFInd installation folder
Create a folder called themes inside it, if it doesn't already exist
Clone this repo into the themes folder
Add include themes/refind-ambience/theme.conf to refind.conf

Contribution

Pull requests for more OS icons are welcome. Please make sure the image is a 256x256 solid white png at 75% transparency. To keep alignment consistent the actual icon should be roughly 132x132 in the middle of the png. Depending on the shape of the icon, the size and position may vary to get better results.

This theme was inspired by rEFInd-minimal by @EvanPurkhiser

I don't seem to be able to find an original source for the background image. If you created it, let me know, I'm happy to provide attribution or remove it if it's an issue.

Any way to make menu entry icons smaller?

So I am currently using refind on a system with a single OS. With your theme that one icon for the OS is huge to the point where the icon resolution is insufficient for displaying a crisp icon image. Is there any way to reduce the menu entry icon sizes?

MOK Utility access

Hello again.

Is there some sort of magic key combination needed to access the MOK utility? I have secure boot enabled and I need to re-enroll my kernel every time it's upgraded. Using your theme I cant seem to access the MOK utility so I end up disabling secure boot, disabling the theme, enrolling the kernel hash, before enabling secure boot and your theme again.

After that I plugged in my Arch install USB to troubleshoot, and with it plugged the menu shows properly ! It looks like with a single entry, something is blocking the menu loading.

I've been able to work around this by commenting out either this line :

selection_small themes/refind-ambience/selection_small.png

Or this one (but it's ugly, obviously) :

icons_dir themes/refind-ambience/icons

Do you have any idea why it's happening ?..
