Store enhancement

  • Add some variety between stores or - Add access to the three ladders.

  • The buying spot should be more obvious, for example:

Attacks should spawn in front of the MC

Problem:

  • Damage is dealt to the enemy even if the enemy is not in front of the player, for example: when an enemy touches the player and the attack trajectory is not in the direction of the enemy, see the image below.

Solution:

  • Attacks should spawn/appear in front of the main character and not inside the character

Keyboard keys require changes

  • Change ESC to Backspace (for example). ESC is an issue when playing on the web in fullscreen. Pressing ESC exits fullscreen.
  • Change 'B' to ENTER and/or SPACEBAR in shop.

Balancing

Discuss and balance:

  • Coin drop chance
  • Prices
  • Damages
  • Waves

Scoring System

The score is not currently shown anywhere to the player.

Game Over Menu

Should feature:

  • "Retry" option (already implemented)
  • "Main Menu" option
  • "Score"

Piercing ability destroys object velocity

The level 9 upgrade of the main weapon is the piercing ability which, currently, does not keep the projectile's velocity. This should be fixed as it wrongly induced a player to think that the projectile has become a collectible.

Change Font

There is a new font in the repo which is expected to make the game look/feel a bit more immersive.
It should be added to all text in the project.

Main Menu

Should feature:

  • Game name as a title
  • "Start" option
  • "Help"/"Instructions" option

Health System For Main Character

  • The health of the player is determined by the blood and red filter on the screen, for instance when maximum health, the screen is normal, when health is lost, the game scene color is distorted, and blood is added around it.
  • Health can be recovered by collecting bandages dropped by enemies and also bought at the store.

Experience System

  • Experience bar on the top of the game scene
  • Experience is gained by killing enemies
  • Different enemies give different amounts of experience
  • The Scoring of the game is based on the total experience gained by the player

Rework speed boost

  • Boost amount fixed (and not stackable)
  • Each collectible increases the duration of the effect

Heath System For Enemies

  • In normal circumstances, the enemy does not display a health bar
  • When enemies receive damage, the health bar will display for a couple of seconds (for example 3 seconds)

Leveling Improvement

  • After x levels, the player should restore to full health
  • Add leveling animation

Currency System

  • Coins can be dropped by killing enemies
  • There is a probability rate for an enemy to drop a coin
  • Different enemies drop the different amounts of coins
  • Coins can be used to buy new weapons and make upgrades at the shop
