This was one of my first proper C# projects. I wrote it as a kid and don't use windows anymore.

LuminanceRGB

Luminance is an RGB platform, originally designed for use inside computers but will work with anything. It's designed to be a simple, resource-friendly and user-friendly way to control RGB lights, but also open and easily customisable to fit your needs. It doesn't need to constantly run on your system, and as a result uses very little CPU time and resources. Here the system is implemented with C# and an Arduino, but the underlying protocol is open and available on the wiki for anyone to implement.

Support for addressable LED strips

Addressable LED strips, along with special effects, should be part of the program and are already partially written into the specification. This needs to be finished and implemented.

Client takes a while to respond to serial messages due to usage of delay()

Using delay() in the Arduino client causes serial messages to be parsed every 50ms due to the call to delay(). This call also causes gradients to not flow properly and be quite blocky.

Changes of state (solid -> gradient and vice-versa) don't automatically work

States don't change by themselves when selected on the drop-down box. It updates when the sliders are moved, so this can easily be worked around, but it's annoying.

Easier configuration of devices is a must

Currently devices can only be added by editing XML data - this is very user-unfriendly and needs a solution. I'm currently considering a GUI to cover this.
