This repository holds the source for the website of the OperatorFabric project, opfab.github.io.
To serve this website locally using the Jekyll Docker image, run the following commands:
git clone https://github.com/opfab/opfab.github.io.git cd opfab.github.io ./docker-compose.sh
This will set the appropriate environment variables and launch the docker-compose in detached mode. The first time, this can take a while as all the necessary gems are downloaded. You can monitor the progress of this process using the docker logs command:
docker logs opfab_website

You can either run this command every time you want latest logs or use the --follow options for the logs to refresh automatically. |
After a while, you should see the following content in the logs
Configuration file: /srv/jekyll/_config.yml Source: /srv/jekyll Destination: /srv/jekyll/_site Incremental build: disabled. Enable with --incremental Generating... Jekyll Feed: Generating feed for posts done in 5.191 seconds. Auto-regeneration: enabled for '/srv/jekyll' Server address: http://0.0.0.0:4000/ Server running... press ctrl-c to stop.
You should then be able to see the website at the following URL : localhost:4000.
To stop the serve, run:
docker-compose stop
This will stop the container but not remove it. This way, the gems won’t need to be downloaded again next time. Next time you need to serve the site, just run:
./docker-compose.sh

The behaviour regarding changes is just the same as with a regular jekyll serve: changes made to the
website source files will be taken into account on the fly but changes to the config.yml file for example will require
a restart.
