periodic boundaries not working with lon/lat grids
The problem is that the option for periodic boundaries assumes that the input data is on a generic grid with a coordinate origin of x=0 and y=0. For global lon/lat grids (x in -180 to 180 and y in -90 to 90 degrees) this does not work.
This leads to problems with the calculation of cell statistics that are related to coordinates, such as the center of mass.
