I opened this PR to discuss the basic structure, approach and goal of the project.

Proposal

Main goals

To be a small course about git for all user.

• Allow all community to contribute with content but avoiding to be a Q&A platform like Stackoverflow.

Approach

• Create a site using github pages and markdown.
• People can download the repo and execute .sh scripts to create the challenges and to check the answers.

Content Structure:

• Core concepts
• Thee levels of exercises/challenges: The good, the bad and the ugly
• Glossary with git terms

Core concepts

• DVCSs vs CVCSs
• Snapshots vs Differences
• Pointers (Heads, Tags)

The good

Common operations using git

• Files states (modified, staged, committed)
• Remote operations (pull, push, fetch)
• Branching and Merging
• Misc (stash, clean)

The bad

When things does not happens as expected:

• Amend
• Revert
• Rebase (squash, fixtup, drop, reword)
• Pointer moving (soft, hard)
• Multiple remotes
• Conflict solving (merge, rebase, stash)

The ugly

Challenges that require to use 2 or more concepts. (like the bad but ugly)
