Just tried with a custom unit. Does not work because 1 unit in my N/S direction (which is shown as E/W by leaflet-measure) seems to be considered 0.25 meters now when I set up a unit which correctly shows 1 unit in E/W on my map as 1 meter (factor 0.00001).
Updated my example: http://illy.bz/tmp/measure-test/
If you zoom in and look at one of the small missing squares on e.g. the lower left corner of the map these sections have an edge length of 16 in both directions. Measuring horizontally properly returns 16 meters with my custom unit, vertically it gives me 4.
For the area I had to create a unit with factor 0.000000000125 so that it at least matches the 4*16 meters = 64 m².

This can be done with the custom factor calculation with an additional link that allows manual input to interact with user to calculate manual input against actual calculated distance and set this result as factor value. This behaviour is needed when measuring custom layer areas.

Looking forward to..

Hi!

I'm also trying to get this plugin to work with the leaflet L.CRS.Simple projection.

I tried changing the custom unit to 0.000009. Vertically and horizontally this seems to work but diagonally I get strange results.

Get my example here:

Thanks!

This never really got answered. Is it possible to use a custom CRS with this plugin? I am also using a variant of L.CRS.Simple. The built-in Leaflet "Scale" control works correctly but this plugin doesn't seem to.
