Creating an Issue
Issue types are the base objects used for issue management. The issue type is where you enable or disable issue management on any issue type, whether it is system-defined or user-defined. For example, given an issue type of slow pages >= 30 and another of slow pages >= 10, both issue types might be used to create their own reports which are issue managed independently. Any report that uses a particular issue type will be managed the same, such that if two reports use the slow pages >=30 issue type, then they will each have the same issue status applied to them. If one report is created from the slow pages >=30 issue type and another report from the slow pages >=10 issue type, then each report would have different issue states. The issue status of one report has no affect on the status of the other report.
Data Source and Parameters
Data Source At the heart of an issue type is a data source which can optionally have one or more parameters, such as deep pages equals 5, slow pages greater than or equal to 30 sec, or an XRule plus `SIN'. Each of these examples constitutes a single issue type.
Parameter Depending on the data source, the parameter changes. It might be a category type for a security issue type, or a check ID for a security check.
XRule Dependencies
XRule Dependencies Specify the XRules for this issue type, if they are required, so the correct data can be gathered.
