TWDA - Failed to fetch

I get the following error when trying to search for cards:
"Failed to fetch"

Anyone else?

More card information

Include more card info in card search results:

  • Sets in which the card was edited, with rarity
  • Official card Id #

Search TWDA by deck author

Would be a nice upgrade. KRCG API allows it already, but this requires an endpoint for author name completion.

Filter TWDA by author

This would be neat. This requires work, though, since the TWDA for now does not list the author/player very precisely. VEKN ID is not indicated, and the included names are full of nicknames, variants, typos and such.

The best course of action is most likely to first edit/enhance the TWDA itself to include the VEKN ID of the player, then to work on a search feature on top of that.

Translation in other languages

French, Spanish, Portugese translations would make the site more accessible to new players. Also, card images and texts in these languages should be used.

Spanish translation

We need a Spanish team (at least two persons) to help us translate the whole site in Spanish.
The translations structure is already set, so there is only one PO file to translate,
but we will need a reactive team to keep the translation up-to-date when modifications are made to the website.

Number of found decks

Could you please make it so it shows the number of returned decks when you search via a specific card?

Translation protocol

Document the protocol for translations and translators teams in the README file.

Better "how to play online" section

Following a discussion with a new coming player, a more complete "how to play online" section would be appreciated:

  • How to get a Discord invite for Lackey Discord group
  • How to install and use Lackey

Add details for creating non-proxy Lackey games

From our learning experiment with Summer Rumble II, it would be useful to put steps and other pertinent information into the Lackey page for self-hosting games. Such as enabling port forwarding, etc. You need not include steps for folks, just what they need to google to get it done.

Revamp layout

Now that we have languages/country flags in the banner, the layout may need a rework.

Depending on the translation, the navigation looks constrained between the website name and the flags.
One idea would be to change the layout so that the navigation is under the icon/name/flags banner, with a bit more space.

Errors/Clarifications/Omitted Cards in Strategy Pages

Fundamentals:

Maybe include Lost in Translation in the list of bounces (disciplineless, but only against younger vampires or allies).
Block "Damage dealing votes" notes for Parity Shift that it can only be played against Methuselahs with less pool, should be "more pool" instead.
Ponticulus should maybe be mentioned within the "Permanent intercept cards" block, as the Ponticulus can be locked to give a Tremere +1 intercept.

Combat:

Maybe clarify that Obedience does not require a block (thus can be played after a succesfull rush on the reacting vampire).
In the block "How to deal with S:CE" maybe remove the reference to Immortal Grapple being the best counter, this is debatable. Also, Sanguine Entrapment as something preventing S:CE should be mentioned.
I don't think The Kiss of Ra should be added in the combat section, since it cannot act as a deterrent against combat decks, but more against blocks.

Best cards: Eagle Sight

Jonas (#5250029) proposed a new wording:

Only three cards in the game allow the interception of cross table actions or actions directed to other players, this one, Falcon's Eye and Anneke. This ability is precious as it may be the only WAY FOR WALL DECKS (DECKS FOCUSED ON BLOCKING EXCLUSIVELY) TO ENSURE THEY HURT THEIR PREY MORE THAN OTHERS LEADING TO AN OUST RATHER THAN KING-MAKING. iT'S ALSO A FLEXIBLE defence against a grand-predator using political actions, but also as a way to control the table balance and avoid early ousts.
